As we approach the final month of the year in the next coming days, it’s only natural for one to start thinking about 2016 and its possibilities. One of my favourite parts of entering a new year are the celebrations that come along with it – one of it being the Lunar Year.
To celebrate the upcoming occasion, Malaysia’s leading jewellery brand Poh Kong recently debuted their 2016 golden Auspicious Collection series featuring key elements that are synonymous to the year of the Monkey in various meaningful, fashionable and innovative designs. There are three main categories to the series: Golden Delights Series, Abacus Prosperity Series, and the Auspicious Monkey Series.
I particularly liked the Golden Delights series due to its floral theme since it will go nicely for Spring wear.
Apart from that, Poh Kong also showcased their signature Happy Love collection that is uniquely designed based on traditional oriental weddings infused with modern elegance. Happy Love features a variety of designs: Perpetual Lovers, Eternal Blossoms, Auspicious Roses, Rings of Destiny Couple Rings, Endless Happiness, Happy Love Charm Collection.
I was really into the Perpetual Lovers “Auspicious Clouds” design because of the message behind it (the majesty of the dragon and the grace of the phoenix are a perfect match that lies among the “Auspicious Clouds” surrounded by the Great Wall, bringing the couple a blessed and abiding marriage).

As for me, since I was born in the year of the Pig, 2016 seems like an unfavourable year to say the least. Apparently us Pigs are going to suffer in everything. Read it and weep. “People born in a Year of the Pig will suffer many disruptions in this Monkey Year. Their career, wealth, health, and relationships will all be at a low ebb.” Stay strong my fellow piggies, we can do this.
