So okay, technically it’s not January anymore once this post goes up, but I did write it when it was still January somewhere in this world so it kinda counts? So for 2015, I’ve decided to start a monthly segment of personal favourites of the month. Basically it can range from products to food to anything really. Without further ado, here are some of my January favourites:

1. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (Cruella)
This product was gifted to me by SEPHORA as an early birthday present. The color of the lip pencil is a scarlet red, and it is understandable why this color has become a cult classic for NARS. The shade is perfect especially with the new hair color (more updates on that later), and the formula is beautiful considering it’s a lip pencil. Check this product out because it’s incredible.

2. BLEACH London Reincarnation Mask
Recently, I went through a very damaging process of changing my hair color almost 7 to 8 shades lighter than its original color. To be exact, I went through four rounds of bleaching + one round of hair dye. Basically by the end of the whole process, my hair was almost dead once I had achieved my color. Thankfully, there was a silver lining to this sad, self-inflicted story when one of my friends (who also changed her hair color drastically too) recommended me this hair mask. Honestly, this mask has been the best thing I have cross paths. Even after only using it for the second time, I could already see the difference in my hair texture (from corse wires to semi-reasonable dry hair). I’m not going to elaborate any further because you just need to see the results yourself, honey. BUY IT.

3. TGV Movie Club
Lately I’ve been finding myself frequenting the cinemas way above my average quota. If you live in Malaysia then I’m pretty sure you would’ve caught TGV’s ad about their movie club at least once during the trailer time right before the movie. If I’m not mistaken this rewards club was released somewhere around fall of 2014, but I never really bothered to check it out not until 5 days ago. The reason behind my motivation of joining this club was quite questionable and somewhat stupid as I really hoped TGV would send me early screening tickets to 50 Shades of Grey (release date Feb 14), but alas no invites yet. (TGV notice me please haha). The rewards program is not bad actually as you get 2 free tickets for your birthday month, another 2 free tickets for being a member, and a whole bunch of other rewards.

4. NIVEA In-Shower Body Moisturiser for Normal Skin
Since my trip to the states, my skin condition has not been in its ideal state. Honestly, I’m more surprised by myself at how fast I dried out in a week during Winter time rather than a whole month in hot humid climate. Basically, its a body moisturiser that you apply in the shower (after you use your normal shower products), and you rinse it off after a minute or so. I’m quite pleasantly surprised at how well this moisturiser does its job, so thumbs up to NIVEA. If you are a lazy body moisturiser user in general (aka me), and wish everything could be done in the shower itself then maybe this is your calling, my friend.

5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Kit (Taupe)
I’ve heard about Anastasia Beverly Hills for quite a while now, however I never really got around her products for several reason:
a) I was a semi-skeptic
b) It’s not sold in Malaysia (well as far as I know basically)
So when I was at Sephora in NYC, I was like “okay let’s just try this. my brows already look sorta stupid because I bleached them and I have no blondish eyebrow color at hand”. The brow wiz kit is pretty amazing because the formula achieves this finished but natural look for brows. Honestly, it’s one of the best brow formulas I’ve ever used in my short two decade lifespan.

So that concludes January’s segment. Hope some of the products I’ve mentioned may have given you some further insight to the product itself. Stay tuned for February Favourites!
Till then,
