With the CITIZEN L brand, a new spirit behind the launch of a new style of luxury watch —“Ambiluna” was recently created merging craftsmanship with timeless, elegantly simple and modern designs.
The name “Ambiluna” is a portmanteau word derived from two elements: “Ambient” and “Lunar”. “Ambient” evokes the natural environment rich in air and light, while “Lunar” suggests the subtle power of the gently-glowing Moon.
The CITIZEN L watches reflect the brand’s concept “Beauty is Beauty”. In other words, external beauty simply reflects internal beauty. This new luxury watch collection embraces the concept of sustainability coupled with craftsmanship — revering and sharing traditional skills and techniques with a new generation of powerful women.
In the spirit of sustainability, all products in the CITIZEN L new collection feature the Eco-Drive – a core CITIZEN technology that powers watches using any natural or artificial light source, eliminating the need to replace batteries.

The design features an overall lightweight stainless steel body with a minimalist finish that makes it suitable for any occasion. It is a beautiful, highly polished time piece that exudes sophistication and minimalism at its best.
CITIZEN L AMBULINA URUSHI WATCH BRACELET
The design features an “Urushi drop,” an element of traditional Japanese lacquerware. The varying brilliance created by Moon-Grazed Sapphire Crystal Glass and the Urushi drop are blended on a simple bangle. Surprisingly, this model turned out to be one of my favorites. The more you looked at it, the more you realized the amount of craftsmanship was put into the watch. The perfect combination for those looking for something dainty and elegant with practical usage.
To celebrate the launch of the limited edition timepieces for CITIZEN Eco-Drive One and CITIZEN L Ambiluna, Citizen presented a unique digital pop-up installation called Time Is Light at the grand opening of Isetan The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur.
A collaboration by famous Japanese architect Tsuyoshi Tane and Yutaka Endo, The CITIZEN Time is Light Art Installation was a unique extension of the Frozen Time concepts that CITIZEN has been exhibiting in Baselworld since 2013. It captures CITIZEN’s long running love affair with light.
